We also have Guest Speaker Melvin Everson – Director of the Governor’s Office of Workforce Development at State of Georgia. The governor has put him in charge of the “Governors Workforce Development” which is a federal program to create a certified training program for a particular job.
A short presentation about this, and how small business owners can communicate what types of skills they are looking to hire will be presented by Melvin at our next meeting. Hope to see you there!

Lawrenceville, Ga., (January 27, 2011) – This Valentine’s Day, Aurora Theatre presents an evening of passion for theatre with its First Annual Awards Gala, Monday, February 14, 2011. The event will honor Mrs. Barbara Howard, Gwinnett philanthropist and Aurora supporter, for her life-long dedication to our community. This unforgettable night will be the beginning of a new tradition for Gwinnett’s only professional theatre, an awards ceremony to recognize the best play, musical and acting performances in the history of Aurora Theatre as voted on by the general public. The romantic celebration begins at 7pm, and features top musical performances from seasons past by Ann-Carol Pence and her band! Tickets are $40 per person or $75 per couple and include a $25 per person tax-deductible donation. Delicious heavy hors d’oeuvres by Upper Crust Catering will be served and there will be a cash bar available. This will be a fun-filled evening and is a great way to spend Valentine’s Day and support the arts, too!
