Let the City Council hear from you regarding a proposed new used car lot on Grayson Hwy across from Ingles. Lawrenceville is already the used car capital of the south with almost 40 used car lots. This proposal is in direct conflict with the 2030 plan the city submitted to the Atlanta Regional Commission. If approved, we'll know the 2030 plan was only window dressing because it's required and there are no plans to follow it.

I love my New Lawrenceville. Recently I had a Teen Fashion Show for my church. We needed a space to have our Fashion Show, so I went to Maggie Wells owner of Studio Dance and Fitness, she open up her entire studio to our teens and their parents. Well you know when you are planning an event things go wrong.First, that evening we needed ice, tongs, and serving spoons. I called Cindy Gilbert owner of The Singin Bean Coffeehouse, told her my dillema, she was happy to help. Meanwhile my coordinator was at Aurora Theatre, picking up chairs that Al Stilo of Aurora donated to us for the show, and let me add the staff there were very accomodating and pleasant. Alright, we have a place, we have chairs and we have serving utensil. But my outfit for the show is wrinkled, so I run next door to Peters Path Boutique the new hip and trendy upscale store owned by my new friends Christine Peters and Ronda DeLaurier Balfe I run in and ask Ronda if she has a iron, she says, No but I have a steamer, she plugs it up and helps me steam my top for the show. Amazing. Here is my point, these business men and women taught me a great lesson about community. Community is about us helping one another out sincerely from the heart, not one person ask me for a thing, they were just there to help me out. When was the last time you felt that type of brotherly love in your community. Lawrenceville is a place I am proud to call home and happy my children are growing up in such a great place.

The new way finding sign presentation from Sky Design at the DDA meeting last night was awesome. The mayor says he would like to see phase I and II built by next summer. The money is in place from the 2005 SPLOST collections. This is really going to help the city's image and create a consistent brand. Way to go DDA and Sky Design.

Today marked the return of the Lunch Shuttle to downtown Lawrenceville. We are happy to report on the very first day we had 22 passengers who rode and said they would be back next week. They also said they would help spread the word to others. Merchants please remember to either e-mail or phone me with your specials that you would like to offer these riders.

This Wednesday the Lawrenceville Lunch Shuttle returns. Georgia Trolley Services trolley "Annabel" will provide free rides on Wednesdays from 11:30 AM to 2 PM. I've looked at the first draft of the banner that Donald Gilbert has done an must say he has done another great job. Kudos also go to Cindy for dropping a few hints in there. It's not to late to show your support for the lunch shuttle, by advertising your business on the banner or placing your flyers on the inside of the trolley. We'll see you Wednesday.

I moved to the Lawrenceville area in 1999 from up north. My daughter attended Cedar hill Elementary, then Richards middle school. I eventually purchased a home near central gwinnett highschool not only for the convenience for my daughter, but also because of the small town feel of downtown Lawrenceville.
I have really enjoyed being part of the Lawrenceville Community and active in the Camden Square Subdivision HOA.
My daughter has enjoyed the downtown shopping, the aurora Theater, and has even participated in playing Orchestra and displaying art in the Square over the past several years. Although she has now graduated, we are staying close as she will attend college in gwinnett county too.

I wanted to take a moment and thank each and every one of the merchants who helped make these last 13 weeks of the Trolley Tour of Homes successful. For me this year has been difficult to say the least. I'm thankful that this community has come together to help support each other. I think we should all be thankful that someone had this idea and the energy to see it thru. There are many individuals who now know that downtown Lawrenceville is still alive. Again my thanks for your particapation and I look forward to next year.

I love Lawrenceville,it is my second home. One of my closest friends is Cindy Pitts Gilbert, the owner of the best coffeehouse in Gwinnett. Going to the Singin Bean is my litte get away from the hustle and bustle of life. She always makes her customers feel at home. I love Delphi Dance and Yoga studio, what an amazing community Maggie Wells has created and I love teaching my yoga classes there on Saturday mornings. And Regina Elvis at the Miracles of Massage Wellness Center is a place of tranquility, as soon as you walk in the doors you feel AAHHHHHHH!.

Kudos to Rodney, Mary and Katie for their awards at the LTTA dinner Tuesday night. Thanks also to Meg Earhart who helped plan the merchants gift to these individuals. Although I didn't say everything I wanted to I wanted to give Kudos to all of our merchants in Lawrenceville who have participated in the trolley tour these past few weeks. You have helped me thru a tough period in my business. I think it's great that so many of us (merchants) know each other and what we do. I always stand ready to send some business your way when I can.

Hello NEW Lawrenceville

I want to thank so many people for coming out yesterday for the Trolley Tours. We had over 100 people show up on the square yesterday. It was very good to see so many people who want to be a part of this great community. We only have two more weeks left before the end of the 2009 Trolley Tours. so if you come, come early. I will be there handing out tickets to those who come early. The first 30 tickets out are the ones able to ride. Thank you again and come for Father's Day Trolley.

I've lived in Gwinnett for almost 20 years with the last seven being in Lawrenceville. I must say that the area has really grown. I love the changes that are taking place with the L'ville Square. I look forward to the different events, which are very family oriented.

Great Place to Live!!

I love it downtown, too, Cynthia! Have you tried the Singin Bean for a casual place for coffee? They have excellent tea, coffee, and iced coffee drinks and several rooms for you to hang out in.
Lawrenceville is a great town to just walk around in. People are friendly, I meet someone new every time I walk around downtown! There are great stores to browse (and buy from, of course:)), like Timeless Treasures. They have so many cool, unique and wonderful items to look at!
Anyway, I just love Lawrenceville. The environment is high energy with a constant buzz of friendliness and a sense of community. I feel very connected with Lawrenceville and probably will never live anywhere else!

Hello NEW Lawrenceville! We are loving the movement that is happening on the square. The Tuesday Night Networking Group is always a hit for Business Owners or Sales Reps. The Community is truly coming together to support each others dreams and hopes. It is a beautiful thing. If you haven't ridden the Trolley there are only 3 weeks left and seat will be full each week. So come early.

Rodney
